We write to tell our stories. We write to be awake in our lives. We write to shine.

Write to Shine offers creative writing workshops for writers of all kinds, even for those who might not consider themselves "writers”.

We see writing as a path to power, healing, self-discovery, understanding, compassion and inclusion. We believe individuals of all ages and backgrounds can use writing as a tool to connect to our truest selves, tap into our creativity and allow our unique voices to “shine” through. We invite our writers to read their words aloud and to listen to what others have written in a safe and supportive writing community.

Write to Shine is always expanding offerings and we enjoy meeting new writers and artists in this collaboration of words.

We offer a weekly Mindful Meeting every Monday at 9 AM on Zoom for writers to come together, breathe, write and set intentions for the week. Writing is an act of mindfulness, creating a mind, heart body connection as we pour words onto the page. We also look at writing and list making as a practice to cultivate in creating a mindful life. We incorporate poetry and meditations of all kinds into this weekly meeting and we follow up with all of our writers in the spirit of accountability and grace.

In our monthly Writers Meeting we bring together writers and story tellers of all kinds for an evening of generative writing and storytelling. We offer prompts and timed writing exercises to make the writing happen during our online meetings. We then break into groups to read our writing out loud or to talk about it.

We all have a story (or 10) to tell – we are here to help you write yours.

Instructions for living a life.
Pay attention.
Be astonished.
Tell about it.
